Normally a customer of Alexander Dennis, Brighton & Hove has moved to Wrights for its first electric doubledeckers. No doubt pressured from above by owners Go-Ahead who earlier struck a deal with Wrights to supply large numbers of electric buses to the group recently accounting for recent deliveries of Electroliners to other Alexander Dennis customers like Southern Vectis and Plymouth Citybus. We are grateful to regular Paul McSherry for this picture in the centre of Brighton last week. It does of course carry the new blue livery adopted recently for some mad reason abandoning the distinctive red and cream long associated with the fleet. As the local council - for an equally mad reason - are looking into franchising one of the country's most successful operations, if successful, they might revert to red and cream. Politically red would be preferable to them than blue, but with Brighton's politics green might be chosen!
